I bought this with a cadence cs5 4000 reel recently and took it out for an outing in our club match! It performed really well comfortably handling the carp I caught to 9lb. Really well balanced rod and performs very well and compares extremely favourably against my 11ft acolyte rod and hx pro reel - and of course so much less expensive! I’m a convert thanks to my fishing buddy Steve Amison! I hope the #3 is in soon I’m looking forward to taking that out too!
Haven’t had chance to use this yet however if it’s anything like my 12 and 13 foot #2’s it’ll be good. It’s a hi class rod on par with more expensive rivals with good body and power but responsive, my 12 foot version reacts well when a fish lunges when you’ve got it near the net so this should be the same.
It’s a two piece rod and when a tip is inserted and the rod still broken down you can’t use a ready rod sleeve as the tip is about 3cm longer than the first section so there’s a danger of breaking the tip. To get round this I have used a bit of tube on the spigot of the first section to make them the same length, works a treat.
Delivery was as usual very quick, great service.

I bought this rod to complement the Cadence 11ft #1 rod which I have been using for some months with great success. I opted to go for the slightly beefier #2 for more flexibility on feeder sizes and longer casts when needed. My initial intention was to have this as an unclipped rod to dot in between, or further out than the 20m or 40m lines that I have become used to targeting in the colder months. However, first time out I ended up clipping it up around 10m further than the long line that I was fishing with the #1 rod. Typical winter fishing, bites were hard won, but I looked on course for a win first time out using the #2 rod until I unfortunately lost a decent bream within about 10m of the bank (no-one likes to see that Jeff), coming second by just 5oz! Ouch! Result apart it was a perfect start for a rod that will be getting a lot of use. It's obviously got more casting power than the #1 model, but playing fish feels exactly the same and the bite indication is just as good. I'm absolutely delighted and a very satisfied customer.
Ordered 11ft #2 after Christmas deadline and delivered next day thanks to Martine. Lovely rod I took to use on an Aire & Calder Navigation match on Dec 21st, but after searching around with the bomb , found the bottom too rocky had to put the feeder line on back burners. Will be taking it to Southfield Reservoir on 28th and fingers crossed a few of resident Bream will be caught using it.
