Recommended Add-Ons

  • Rigid D shaped aluminium top rings
  • 8mm, steel reinforced support rings (Mixed Mesh)
  • Weighted Aluminium base rings (Mixed Mesh)
  • 45cm x 35cm
  • Micromesh upper with carp sacking lower
  • Stainless streel threads
  • Positive and robust angle-tilt mechanism
  • Large stake out rings at base
  • Black, fish friendly meshes

An excellent river net. This uses a micromesh upper (5 sections) combined with a carp sacking fabric lower (3 sections). The micromesh helps when used in rivers allowing water to pass through easier, it also dries out quicker and the carp sacking at the bottom gives the fish somewhere dark and secure. This lower part is also even stronger when lifting out for weighing in at the end of a match.

The positive 3-part angle-tilt uses a stainless steel thread and is securely bonded into a D shaped aluminium top ring for rigidity and which also incorporates a small ‘V’ rest on the far side.

Main support rings are steel reinforced 8mm plastic and the lower rings surrounding the carp sacking are all aluminium. All rings are 45cm x 35cm. All of the small to medium sized Edge landing nets (Match, Carp Hair, Carp Fast as well as the smaller Specimen) comfortably fit into the top of these keepnets so you can lower your fish in.

I’ve had one of these nets for just over three years, it’s still serviceable but is starting to show signs of wear on the corners of the bottom rings. It’s had some hammer in matches on rivers, canals and natural stillwaters, so three years is not bad. No doubt it would’ve suffered a lot less wear if I’d carried it in an eva bag rather than the front pocket of my carryall along with a metal side tray and my landing net, but I’m all about reducing the weight and number of luggage items these days. That’s one of the things I like about this net, it’s a sensible size for relatively modest match weights of smaller fish. It doesn’t drag in the current on the river and is easy to peg out if necessary. It also dries pretty quickly. The weighted bottom rings make it easier to chuck out to full length, and tend to hold it there. So with two friends both losing fish in matches due to keepnet failure in the last couple of weeks, I decided to replace mine. It was a no brainer to simply rebuy the same net. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because the first one is almost worn out after three years. But then again, I haven’t really looked after it…..,,.
